PROFESSIONAL DESIGN COURSE IN FLORENCE

My name is Salma Hassouni, I’m 26 years old, and I came to Florence to take a Professional Design course at Florence Design School.

I am originally from Morocco, and currently live in Paris. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interior architecture and design from Art’com sup in Rabat. Building upon this foundation, I pursued further studies abroad, attaining another Bachelor’s degree in LISAA Strasbourg, France.

Now I decided to deepen my expertise through a Professional Design Course in Florence to gain more knowledge and experience in Interior Design.

interior designer's main challenge

Studying interior design presents a lot of challenges. One of the primary challenges I encountered during my studies was finding the delicate balance between creativity and functionality. To achieve this balance it demands a good understanding of spatial dynamics. Thus, I also became more attentive to small details to satisfy the client’s needs. I remain steady in pushing the boundaries of creativity while upholding the principles of functionality and sustainability.

My professional design course in Florence

One of my favorite projects from the professional design course was a temporary bistort. I took inspiration from the beauty of mountains and nature. This was an exhilarating challenge that pushed the boundaries of my creativity.

As an interior designer, I also had to see every aspect of the project. From the overall shape of the building to the smallest details within. I intended to capture the essence of the natural landscape while ensuring functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The hardest part was the incorporation of the varying levels and contours of mountains into the structure. I needed to balance structural integrity with the desire to evoke the beauty of nature. This required meticulous planning and innovative solutions. I needed to ensure that the building not only resembled the shape of mountains but also provided a seamless flow throughout its different levels.

my favourite interior design project

Overall, the project of designing a temporary bistro inspired by nature was a labor of love. It challenged me to think outside the box and push the boundaries of conventional design. I integrated the architectural structure with the surrounding landscape and infused the interior space with elements of nature. From the furniture crafted, the choice of materials not only added to the rustic charm of the bistro. It also served as a reminder of the raw beauty of the natural world. By infusing the interior space with elements of nature, I was able to create a truly immersive dining experience. Moreover, I hope that it transports clients to a world of tranquility and natural beauty.
